We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting / Controller to lead the organization’s accounting function in Santa Ana, California. This role will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and process optimization while ensuring accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information for business decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound technical accounting judgment, and the ability to partner across teams to support the company’s financial objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the day-to-day accounting function and provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to accounting team members.
• Establish, formalize, and maintain accounting policies and procedures that support consistent financial practices and compliance standards.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results with clear analysis, reliable reporting, and relevant performance insights for leadership review.
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded promptly and accurately, with complete reconciliations and supporting documentation in place.
• Build and oversee a strong internal control environment, including monitoring effectiveness, addressing gaps, and guiding corrective actions where needed.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems, workflows, and integrations to increase efficiency and strengthen operational performance.
• Partner with colleagues across departments to monitor financial results, support planning efforts, and help advance broader business goals.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support timely audits, tax planning activities, and ongoing compliance obligations.
• Lead the rollout of enhanced accounting and tax processes, introducing practical procedures and tools that improve accuracy and productivity.• Demonstrated experience leading accounting operations and managing accounting staff in a senior-level finance or controllership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and internal control practices.
• Ability to create and maintain accounting policies, process documentation, and organized financial records.
• Experience working with external audit and tax professionals to support compliance, reporting, and planning requirements.
• Proven capability to analyze financial performance, interpret key metrics, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Background in improving accounting workflows, strengthening procedures, and supporting system-related process enhancements.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and leadership levels.
