Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Credit Clerk to join a manufacturing organization in Waukesha, Wisconsin on a Contract basis. This fully onsite role will support customer billing and credit activities by handling inquiries, processing transactions, and keeping account information accurate. The position is well suited for someone who communicates professionally, works carefully with financial details, and can manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Manage credit-related transactions, including preparing and issuing credit adjustments while keeping customers informed on progress and resolution timing.
• Respond to incoming customer inquiries involving returns, payment questions, billing concerns, and shipment or order updates with professionalism and accuracy.
• Review return requests and clearly communicate applicable return and freight guidelines so customers understand next steps and expectations.
• Accept and process customer card payments for orders while maintaining careful attention to accuracy and documentation.
• Provide timely updates on order progress by coordinating with internal departments to confirm current status information.
• Investigate customer issues tied to billing, credits, returns, and order activity, then partner with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized customer records by updating account details and preserving supporting documentation for transactions and communications.
• Contribute to day-to-day billing and credit operations by assisting with related administrative tasks and other assigned duties.• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of experience in customer service, billing, credit, accounts receivable, or a closely related area.
• Prior exposure to credit adjustments, returns processing, billing support, or order management is preferred.
• Ability to handle customer payment transactions accurately, including credit card processing.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work precisely across financial and account records.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented customer-facing approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning or using business systems such as SAP or Salesforce.
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks, stay organized, and follow through in a fast-paced onsite environment.
