Job Description
This role focuses on planning, setting up, and operating a variety of fabrication and machine shop equipment—including punch presses, shears, drill presses, and chop saws—to cut and shape metal and plastic materials to precise dimensions. You will work directly from blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to complete production tasks, verify measurements, and ensure all finished parts meet specification and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan fabrication assignments by reviewing blueprints, process sheets, and sketches to understand job requirements and specifications.
- Lay out workpieces and set up machine shop equipment, including punch presses, shears, drill presses, and chop saws, for production runs.
- Operate punch presses, shears, chop saws, and other fabrication equipment to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic materials.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately for fabrication and machining work.
- Votech graduate and/or 1-2 years of fabrication experience
- Ability to read and use a tape measure and measuring scale with precision.
- Ability to use drill presses and saws, including chop saws, in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication processes such as sawing, cutting, shearing, punching, bending, and notching metal or plastic materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with MIG welding in a fabrication environment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chadds Ford, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
