Job Description
This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and auxiliary equipment in a high-speed packaging manufacturing environment. You will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency, while consistently following all safety protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production and auxiliary production equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on packaging machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, electrical panels, and 480V circuits.
- Identify and correct mechanical and electrical problems on high-speed packaging machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment, including basic PLC fault finding and reset activities.
- Work with VFDs and drives to diagnose performance issues and implement repairs or adjustments.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation to guide troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintain equipment in a manner that supports maximum uptime, reliability, and production efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and best practices while performing maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and respond to equipment issues in real time.
- Make independent, real-time decisions to resolve equipment failures and keep production running.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support ongoing reliability and continuous improvement.
- Support both day and night shift operations as needed, working within 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shift schedules based on preference.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of related experience in an industrial maintenance role.
- Industrial mechanical or electrical experience with at least PLC troubleshooting exposure.
- Hands-on manufacturing experience in an industrial or high-speed packaging environment.
- Intermediate electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills for production machinery.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
- Experience with industrial electric systems, including motors, motor controls, electrical panels, and electrical schematics.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems operating at 480V safely and effectively.
- Experience working with VFDs and drives in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions in real time to resolve equipment issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens systems is a plus.
- Background in maintaining high-speed packaging machines.
- Hydraulics maintenance experience.
- Pneumatics maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to perform detailed mechanical repairs and adjustments.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, industrial production setting with frequent equipment changeovers.
- Willingness to work day or night shifts and adjust to 8-, 10-, or 12-hour schedules based on operational needs.

Work Environment
The role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility focused on high-speed packaging operations. The maintenance team is critical to keeping production running, and technicians are expected to work independently, make decisions in real time, and solve complex equipment problems under time pressure. Shifts include day and night options, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour schedules available to match individual preferences, typically Monday through Friday for day shift. The environment involves working around production machinery, industrial electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated packaging equipment. The dress code consists of long pants and a work shirt; steel-toe boots are not required, and there is no specific uniform. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylor, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
