Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join a high-volume laboratory team supporting product development and clinical testing activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, thrives in a structured environment, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality results.
As a Lab Technician, you will perform a variety of wet chemistry and laboratory testing procedures, prepare solutions and buffers, maintain controlled testing environments, and document results with precision. The position operates in a fast-paced, process-driven laboratory where consistency, attention to detail, and adherence to standard operating procedures are critical to success.
Key Responsibilities- Perform wet lab testing and laboratory experiments in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare buffer solutions, reagents, and test materials using proper laboratory techniques and measurement practices.
- Execute validation, drift, linearity, and performance testing to support product development and quality initiatives.
- Maintain controlled testing conditions to ensure reliable and reproducible results.
- Conduct visual inspections and imaging of components while meeting established daily testing and throughput goals.
- Accurately document test procedures, observations, and results to support data integrity and traceability.
- Enter, organize, and maintain large volumes of test data within laboratory records and databases.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies, reporting issues as needed.
- Adhere to laboratory safety standards, quality requirements, and regulated work practices.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to support testing objectives and project timelines.
- Support a high-mix, high-volume testing environment with multiple concurrent testing procedures.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on laboratory experience through industry, research, co-op, or long-term internship environments.
- Experience preparing buffers, solutions, and reagents using standard laboratory practices.
- Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques and controlled laboratory testing environments.
- Ability to follow detailed SOPs and execute procedures with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience documenting laboratory activities and maintaining accurate records.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience performing drift, linearity, validation, or qualification testing.
- Previous experience in a high-throughput, production-style laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, ISO, or other regulated laboratory environments.
- Experience conducting visual inspections, imaging, or component evaluations.
- Experience handling large datasets, data entry, and laboratory documentation systems.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and quality control processes.
- Experience supporting medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.
- Ability to quickly learn and execute a wide variety of laboratory testing procedures.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
