Job Description

The 2nd Shift Electromechanical Assembler builds and tests electromechanical assemblies, with a strong focus on soldering, wiring, crimping, and wire harness construction. This role requires careful interpretation of diagrams and instructions to assemble equipment and products accurately, while maintaining high quality standards in a clean production environment on the 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electromechanical assembly tasks including soldering, wiring, crimping, and wire harness construction.
  • Read, interpret, and execute written instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and wire schematics to complete precise assembly of equipment and products.
  • Construct and test wire harness connections to ensure proper function and adherence to specifications.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and fixtures safely and effectively during assembly and production activities.
  • Conduct quality spot checks on products to verify compliance with established standards and requirements.
  • Promptly report any product inconsistencies, defects, or equipment malfunctions to supervision for resolution.
  • Rework or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specifications and quality criteria.
  • Maintain consistent production output while following mechanical, electrical, and wiring procedures.
  • Support a clean and organized work area within the production facility and follow all applicable work instructions.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years of assembly experience in an electromechanical or closely related environment.
  • 2–5+ years of electromechanical experience, including hands-on work with wiring, soldering, and mechanical assembly.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of wire harnessing, including cutting, routing, crimping, termination, and testing.
  • Strong soldering skills, with the ability to perform precise and reliable solder joints on electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wire schematics, and assembly drawings accurately.
  • Experience with electronic assembly processes, including electrical wiring and cable harness assembly.
  • Proficiency using common hand tools and assembly fixtures safely and effectively.
  • Ability to follow detailed production, mechanical, and electrical instructions with high attention to detail.
  • Capability to identify quality issues and perform rework or repair according to engineering specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous soldering certifications, such as IPC-related credentials, are highly preferred.
  • Experience in electrical assembly, including cable harness and electronic component integration.
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment with established quality standards.
  • Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, and wiring tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to maintain steady employment history and demonstrate reliability and commitment over time.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a clean production facility focused on electromechanical and electronic assembly. The role is on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed. Team members work at assembly stations using hand tools, fixtures, and test equipment while following documented procedures and quality standards. Steel-toed boots are required as part of the safety and dress code in this environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tustin, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
