This role focuses on delivering, installing, servicing, and repairing HVAC units for a homebuilder division. You will work directly with customers and internal teams to coordinate equipment deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls, while ensuring all HVAC installations and repairs meet safety and quality standards. The position offers a mix of seasonal responsibilities, with more servicing and rebuilding of used units in the summer and installation work in the winter.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver, install, and repair HVAC units for the homebuilder division in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, internal managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
  • Install flexible gas hose for both propane and natural gas applications, following all safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Implement proper and safe procedures to check gas connections and verify system integrity before completing jobs.
  • Service and rebuild used HVAC units during summer months, ensuring equipment is reliable and ready for rental or installation.
  • Perform HVAC installations during winter months, adhering to technical specifications and local codes.
  • Use mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Work closely with managers and sales engineers to maintain accurate records of in-stock and rented equipment.
  • Assist with tracking equipment status, usage, and inventory to support efficient operations.
  • Handle and use hand tools and basic electrical tools safely and effectively during installation and repair work.
  • Lift and move HVAC units and related equipment weighing up to 88 pounds as part of daily tasks.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC systems or strong mechanical aptitude applicable to HVAC work.
  • Ability to perform mechanical repairs, installations, and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment.
  • Experience using hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Capability to lift up to 88 pounds as required for handling HVAC units and equipment.
  • Professional communication skills for interacting with customers, managers, and sales engineers.
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts related to HVAC systems (with willingness to learn more).
  • Attention to safety when working with gas connections for both propane and natural gas applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in HVAC service, troubleshooting, repair, or installation.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar mechanically focused role.
  • Familiarity with gas hose installation and safe gas connection procedures.
  • Basic electrical experience related to HVAC systems; training is available for candidates eager to learn.
  • EPA-related knowledge or exposure to HVAC environmental and safety standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to help maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.

Work Environment

The role involves both indoor and outdoor work depending on job sites, as well as seasonal variations in tasks, with more servicing and rebuilding of used units in the summer and more installation work in the winter.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakeville, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
