Location: Burlington, WA
Shift: 7am- 3:30pm M-F
Pay: $26-$29
Job Description
The Document Control Specialist maintains and improves document control systems to ensure accurate, compliant, and accessible records across the organization. This role processes, formats, updates, and maintains policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and related quality system documentation, while supporting quality and safety objectives through effective document and records management practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer document control systems, ensuring all policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality system documents are current, accurate, and properly formatted.
- Process, track, and manage Document Change Requests (DCRs) from initiation through closure, maintaining a well-organized document control library.
- Coordinate the control, distribution, retention, and retrieval of internal and external documents and records to support traceability and compliance requirements.
- Organize, categorize, scan, archive, and maintain records in both physical and electronic formats to ensure efficient access and long-term record integrity.
- Support Change Board activities related to updates in the document control library and specification library, providing accurate documentation and timely information.
- Upload supplier certifications and receiving documentation into M-Files or other document imaging systems, maintaining complete and accurate records.
- Contribute to plant quality and safety objectives by applying consistent document control and record management practices in alignment with organizational standards.
- Perform data entry and inventory control tasks related to document and record management, ensuring information is correctly captured and maintained.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating document changes and priorities clearly and professionally.
- Develop and manage priority lists for document-related tasks, responding effectively to changing business needs and timelines.
- Complete special projects and other related duties as assigned, supporting continuous improvement of document control processes.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of related experience and/or training in document control, record retention, or a similar field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Stable work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality system documentation.
- Experience working with inventory systems related to document or record management.
- Comfort working with scanners and other office equipment to digitize and archive documents.
- Ability to support plant quality and safety initiatives through disciplined documentation practices.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Burlington, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.96 - $28.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
