We're seeking a mechanically inclined Set-Up Mechanic to support production operations by setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining stamping press equipment and tooling. What You'll Do

As a Set-Up Mechanic, you'll be responsible for preparing stamping presses and dies for production while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up stamping presses and tooling according to work orders and production specifications
  • Perform die changes and equipment changeovers to support production schedules
  • Verify materials, metal types, and thickness requirements before production begins
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and machine issues to minimize downtime
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery and tooling
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards and tolerances are met
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring equipment to verify dimensions
  • Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and setup instructions
  • Perform basic repairs and machine adjustments using hand tools
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Collaborate with operators and production staff to ensure smooth production runs
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environments
  • At least 2 years of mechanical, maintenance, or equipment repair experience
  • Experience using hand tools in an industrial setting
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Basic math skills, including measurements and fractions
  • Ability to work safely around industrial equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Stamping press setup experience
  • Die setting or die maintenance experience
  • Industrial maintenance knowledge
  • HVAC, automotive, diesel, or similar mechanical trade experience
  • Experience performing machine changeovers
  • Metal fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing experience

Work Environment

This position is based in a large manufacturing facility in Pompano Beach and involves working directly with stamping press machinery on the production floor.

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
  • Occasional overtime and Saturdays may be available
  • Manufacturing environment is loud and non-air-conditioned
  • Safety equipment provided, including safety glasses, gloves, aprons, and hearing protection
  • Steel-toe boots required
  • Must be comfortable working around industrial machinery and following safety procedures

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
