The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting finished goods, raw materials, tooling, and other products to customers and vendors throughout Minnesota. This role is ideal for a professional driver who enjoys being on the road while still returning home every evening. You will play a key part in ensuring timely, accurate deliveries and supporting warehouse operations as needed, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a company semi-truck and trailer to pick up and deliver customer orders, raw materials, tooling, and production supplies throughout Minnesota.
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as required.
  • Secure loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards to ensure safe transport.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete all required inspection reports accurately.
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, including bills of lading and shipping documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with the Shipping Department regarding delivery schedules, route updates, and any delays.
  • Interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors, consistently representing the company in a positive manner.
  • Report vehicle maintenance concerns promptly to ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized truck and trailer, both inside and out.
  • Follow all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), DOT, and company safety regulations at all times.
  • Assist with warehouse or shipping duties when deliveries are completed, including general production support and material handling as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Valid Minnesota Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements, if required.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card).
  • Clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
  • Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with shipping staff and customers.
  • Strong customer service skills when interacting with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-oriented work habits.
  • Ability to frequently lift, move, or carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb into and out of the tractor and trailer multiple times throughout the day.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and secure loads safely.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in a warehouse, shipping, or general production environment is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with modern trucking and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing delivery schedules and route updates.
  • Strong attention to detail when completing inspection reports and shipping documentation.
  • Commitment to following FMCSA, DOT, and company safety policies consistently.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production and manufacturing environment that includes both driving and warehouse settings. You will work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions while operating a semi-truck, trailer, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. The company maintains modern equipment and emphasizes a safety-first culture. Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required as part of the dress code to ensure a safe working environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday with weekends off, and you will be home every night after your route.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
