Job Description
The Machine Operator loads and unloads sheet metal on various production machines while working from blueprints and using precision measuring tools to ensure accurate fabrication. This role is physically demanding, requires consistent attention to detail, and involves standing for most of the shift in a clean, modern metal manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload sheet metal from production equipment, including brake press, turret, press, and rollers.
- Work from blueprints to perform accurate sheet metal fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and ensure product quality.
- Handle and move product throughout the shift, including lifting items up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Operate fabrication and assembly equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with established procedures.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform fabrication, assembly, and related tasks on sheet metal components.
- Maintain a steady work pace while standing for 8 or more hours in a physically demanding production environment.
- Follow written and verbal instructions in English to complete daily production assignments.
- Support cross-training efforts by learning to operate additional machines and work in other departments as needed.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, quality standards, and attendance policies, including point-based guidelines during the initial employment period.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using a tape measure in a production or construction setting.
- At least 1 year of experience using micrometers and calipers for precision measurement.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Experience working in a physically demanding job, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for 8 or more hours per shift in a production environment.
- Ability to read and write English to follow instructions, document work, and communicate with the team.
- Hands-on experience with machine operation related to sheet metal or fabrication processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with brake press, turret, press, and roller machines.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment, especially during busy seasons such as summer.
- Willingness to be cross-trained on additional machines or in other departments to expand skills and responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Reliability and punctuality, with an understanding of point-based attendance expectations during the initial 90 days.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
