This role focuses on receiving, inspecting, and refurbishing used stage components after tours are completed. You support the production of complex touring stages by handling returned equipment, performing light repairs, and ensuring all components are safe, functional, and visually ready for their next use. This is a contract position with strong potential for longer-term opportunities based on performance.

Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming used stage components after tours, including legs, platform sections, boxes, totes, and other items used in stage setups.
  • Inspect returned stage equipment for damage, wear, or defects and document any issues as needed.
  • Perform light repairs on stage components using basic hand tools and power tools, such as removing and replacing screws or bolts and swapping out damaged parts.
  • Use materials such as bondo and spray paint to touch up dings, scratches, and other cosmetic imperfections so components look fresh and presentable.
  • Ensure all parts function properly and meet quality expectations before they are returned to inventory for the next tour.
  • Stack deck frames for stages in an organized and safe manner.
  • Stack wood used to build deck frames, maintaining an orderly workspace and following safety guidelines.
  • Assist with the basic assembly of frames using screws and an electric screwdriver or drill.
  • Follow production schedules and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to workplace safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Consistently report to work on time and reliably complete assigned tasks throughout the shift.
  • Work overtime as needed, including extended hours and additional days, to support production demands.
Essential Skills
  • Experience performing general labor tasks in a manufacturing, production, or similar hands-on environment.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively, including screwdrivers, wrenches, and similar tools.
  • Ability to use basic power tools, such as electric screwdrivers and drills, for assembly and light repair work.
  • Capability to inspect and repair returned stage equipment, including identifying damage and performing minor fixes.
  • Physical ability to consistently bend, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Reliability in showing up for work every day and maintaining consistent attendance.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, including 50+ hour weeks when required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in production, warehouse, or refurbishment work is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with refurbishing or maintaining equipment, structures, or similar components is an advantage.
  • Comfort performing repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new tasks and processes.
  • Interest in live entertainment, staging, or event production environments is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on designing, constructing, and delivering live entertainment equipment. The organization employs more than 600 people and produces complex and customized touring stages and theater automation systems. You will work primarily with returned stage components, using basic hand tools, power tools, bondo, and spray paint to inspect and refurbish equipment. The role is on second shift, typically from 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the expectation of overtime as needed, often resulting in 50+ hour workweeks. The assignment is a contract role expected to run approximately one to three months, with current demand projected through the end of summer. The environment is deadline-driven, with tight timelines and high expectations for quality and productivity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lititz, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
