Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented employee for Manual and Machine Layout position in a fast-paced, climate-controlled manufacturing environment in our Hurst, TX location.
This position is responsible for pulling, measuring, marking, and cutting polyester and nylon materials according to work orders and layout instructions. The position requires the accurate use of measuring tools and cutting equipment, as well as careful attention to detail to ensure materials are prepared correctly for production.
Quality control is a critical part of this position. Accuracy is essential because properly prepared materials are necessary for producing finished products that meet required specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull polyester and nylon materials according to work orders.
- Measure and mark materials accurately using a tape measure and other measuring tools.
- Cut materials using cutting equipment and a layout table.
- Follow work orders, layout instructions, and production specifications.
- Verify measurements and quantities before materials move to the next stage of production.
- Carefully inspect work to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies, defects, or other production issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized materials throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other production team members.
- Work cooperatively with team members to meet daily production requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
- Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Must be able to follow written work orders and detailed layout instructions.
- Must be dependable and consistent in attendance.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to arrive at work on time every day.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude are required.
- Must be able to work effectively with other team members on the production floor.
- Previous manufacturing, cutting, or material-layout experience is helpful but not required.
- On-the-job training will be provided
