Looking for a friendly outgoing person to welcome and greet patients and visitors, in person and by telephone. This position requires a positive attitude and a willingness to optimize the patients and all customers satisfaction. Must be punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented. Candidate needs to have the ability to multi-task while remaining focused upon providing exceptional customer service. The job requirements include excellent communication skills as well as computer skills and an ability to work as a team member. Experience with scheduling in Athena or an orthopedic practice would be helpful but not a requirement.

  • Checking out patient using Athena Health
  • Collecting/Calculating deductibles/co-insurances.
  • Answering in-coming calls and checking voice messages regularly.
  • Scheduling patient appointments, handling referrals, addressing routine inquiries, forwarding non-routine requests to appropriate personnel, collecting co-pays and balances, patient registration, data entry of patient information, and assisting where needed within the front office
  • Insurance verifications, scanning
  • Monitor clinic schedule
  • Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
  • Displays respectful and caring attitude towards patients at all times.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and make necessary changes.
  • Data entry skills and general computer/office skills are required for this position
  • Functions at the highest level of customer service, compassion and professionalism to internal and external patients and customers.
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of and strict adherence to HIPAA, and general appropriate conduct governing patient confidentiality

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year experience in a front office clinical setting
  • Minimum of accredited high school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle high volume of patients and calls

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with local insurance plans and procedures
  • Experience in Athena Health
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
