The RoleAs a Store Manager, you're responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and day-to-day operation of your store.
You'll lead your team to deliver exceptional customer service while driving sales and profitability, developing employees, managing inventory and shrink, controlling payroll and expenses, and ensuring the store consistently meets Goody Goody's operational, safety, and compliance standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys developing people, solving problems, making decisions, and taking ownership of results.
What You'll Do:Lead the Team – Recruit, onboard, train, coach, and develop Team Members while establishing clear expectations and building a culture of accountability and teamwork.
Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience – Create a welcoming, customer-focused environment and coach your team on customer engagement, selling behaviors, and product knowledge.
Drive Sales & Profitability – Monitor sales, profitability, payroll, expenses, and other performance measures and take action to achieve established goals.
Manage Inventory & Reduce Shrink – Maintain inventory accuracy, appropriate stock levels, merchandising standards, and strong loss-prevention practices.
Develop & Manage Performance – Provide ongoing feedback and coaching and appropriately address performance, attendance, conduct, and policy concerns.
Manage Labor & Scheduling – Build schedules around business needs while effectively managing payroll and overtime.
Ensure Operational Excellence – Maintain a clean, organized, safe, properly merchandised, and operationally ready store.
Protect the Business – Ensure compliance with company policies, safety and loss-prevention standards, cash-handling procedures, and applicable alcohol-sales regulations.
Partner Across the Business – Work closely with your Regional Manager, Human Resources, and other company departments to address opportunities and support store success.
What You Bring:Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience.
Ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold Team Members accountable.
Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand and manage business measures such as sales, payroll, inventory, expenses, and shrink.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to use computers, point-of-sale systems, and other technology necessary to operate the store.
Ability to successfully complete required Goody Goody training and product-knowledge assessments, including our Wine and Spirits tests.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays. We're closed Sundays!
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including regularly standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Experience- Previous retail management experience.
- Experience managing sales, inventory, payroll, expenses, and shrink.
- Experience recruiting, training, coaching, and managing employee performance.
- Experience in beverage alcohol, grocery, hospitality, or another regulated retail environment.
