This role is primarily a sales position. The Producer / Operations Manager is responsible for closing new business and driving premium growth for Cambridge Insurance Agency, with a secondary hybrid role overseeing back-office operations and workflow quality.

A full-time virtual assistant (VA) supports this role, handling data entry, quoting prep, documentation, and routine follow-up so the producer can prioritize selling time.

This position supports agency growth by:

  • Closing new business and hitting individual production targets
  • Directing the VA on daily quoting, data entry, and follow-up tasks
  • Maintaining workflow quality and process consistency across the book
  • Supporting renewal retention and cross-sell opportunities
  • Ensuring accurate, timely client and carrier communication
Key Responsibilities

Sales / Producer (primary - commission opportunities)

  1. New business prospecting, quoting, and closing
  2. Client consultations and needs analysis
  3. Carrier placement strategy and proposal structuring
  4. Cross-selling and account rounding on existing clients
  5. Referral partner and network development (DMBA, lenders, etc.)

Operations (secondary, VA-supported)

  1. Directing VA workload: quoting prep, data entry, documentation
  2. Renewal management and retention oversight
  3. Workflow and process quality control
  4. Client escalation handling
  5. Reporting and pipeline tracking
  6. System management (EZLynx and related platforms)

Daily/Weekly/Monthly Responsibilities

  1. Work new leads and referrals (calls, quotes, follow-up)
  2. Direct VA to enter leads and prep quotes in EZLynx
  3. Review coverages, pricing, and proposal structure
  4. Present proposal and close
  5. Confirm bind, payment, and documentation with VA
  6. Review priority items (renewals, escalations, VA queue)
  7. Assign or reassign VA tasks as needed
  8. Monitor accuracy of VA and team output
  9. Monitor upcoming renewals and flag at-risk accounts
  10. Determine if remarketing is needed
  11. Ensure client communication is completed
  12. Pipeline review: close ratios, stalled deals, next actions
  13. Carrier and market appetite review
  14. Financial and KPI review: revenue, retention, production
  15. Workflow and process refinement with VA
  16. Drives revenue directly through new business closing
  17. Improves close ratios through proposal and placement strategy
  18. Maintains retention through proactive renewal management
  19. Grows account value through cross-selling
  20. Builds referral partner pipeline for consistent lead flow
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Texas P&C license preferred
  • Experience quoting in EZLynx preferred but not required
  • Prior producer or closing experience strongly preferred
