Location: Houston, TX 77081
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $20.00/hour ($41,600 annually)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Research Clerk to support our bankruptcy operations team. This position is responsible for reviewing, researching, and processing bankruptcy-related information while maintaining a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with detailed information and documentation, managing a high-volume workload, and conducting research to identify and verify relevant information. Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills are important for success in this role.
Prior experience with bankruptcy processes, legal documents, financial records, collections, or administrative research is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process bankruptcy-related information and documentation.
  • Research bankruptcy records, cases, and related information using available databases and resources.
  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain information within internal systems.
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Research and verify information from multiple sources.
  • Identify discrepancies, missing information, or potential issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Process a high volume of work while meeting established productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records and documentation.
  • Follow established procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding research findings, documentation, and case status.
  • Assist with additional administrative and research-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive legal and financial information.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, research, legal, financial, collections, or data-processing environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze information from multiple sources.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Ability to learn new software, databases, and internal systems quickly.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
Preferred Experience

  • Bankruptcy or bankruptcy case processing
  • Legal administrative support
  • Collections
  • Financial records or financial services
  • Court records or public records research
  • Data entry or document processing
  • Claims processing
  • Accounts receivable
  • High-volume administrative environments
  • Research or records management
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, organized, and comfortable working with large amounts of information. This individual should be able to follow established procedures, identify discrepancies, conduct thorough research, and consistently produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must be comfortable working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and accepting the posted compensation of $20.00/hour.
