We are dedicated to delivering high-quality, dependable products that help our customers power, protect, and optimize their networks. We are currently seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join our talented engineering team and contribute to the development of innovative technologies that drive our industry forward.

At Trimm, Inc., our core values — Exploration, Purpose, Integrity, and Connection — guide everything we do as we pursue our mission: “Driven to design and manufacture powerful solutions.”

Summary

Primarily responsible for new hardware designs, this role will use engineering principles to design new products, make improvements to existing products, and ensure product design compliance with appropriate regulatory and certifying bodies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Design DC power distribution circuits, fused circuits, alarm schemes, remote monitoring, and plug-and-play systems.
• Design and peer review analog, digital, and power circuitry and PCB layouts based on schematics and product specifications, applying sound digital logic principles.
• Research and resolve design problems on new and existing product lines, using circuit simulation software for parametric modeling.
• Review engineering design changes and recommend modifications to minimize cost and improve manufacturability.
• Maintain up-to-date drawings, part lists, and bills of materials in the ERP system — revising documentation to reflect design changes, following filing guidelines, and reviewing customer specifications as requested.
• Support engineering change requests (ECRs), process improvement (5S), and training initiatives as needed.

Minimum Education and Work Experience

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 2 years of real-world hardware design work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

• Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, write detailed specifications and reports, and effectively present information in group settings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of analog circuits — rectifiers, regulators, oscillators, amplifiers, filters, inductors — and their electronic schematics.
• Familiarity with non-isolated and isolated power electronic topologies such as Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, and Full-Bridge.
• Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, electronic loads, AC and DC sources, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and LCR meters.
• Experience with circuit modeling tools (PSPICE, LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.).
• Experience with ECAD software (Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, Mentor Graphics, etc.).
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical circuit issues and faults.

Preferred

• Experience using AI tools and creating agents to support design projects.
• Experience with EMC diagnosis, troubleshooting, and mitigation.
• Experience with wide bandgap materials.
• MSEE (Master's in Electrical Engineering).
