Step into a fulfilling contract position supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for 4th and 5th grade English Language Arts. Located in a school setting near Loves Park, IL, this full-time opportunity focuses on delivering impactful educational experiences to a caseload of 9-14 students. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated educational team and help shape positive academic journeys for young learners with special needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Special Education teaching certification
  • Previous experience working with elementary students, particularly in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade settings
  • Strong background in ELA curriculum and instruction
  • Adept at implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Positive communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated ELA lessons tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Monitor student progress and adapt instruction as needed
  • Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate records and track student milestones
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and staff
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
