Human Resources Specialist

Location: Sacramento, CA (Onsite)

Schedule: Full-Time | In-Office

An established and growing organization is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support a multi-state workforce of over 500 employees. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment and has experience supporting HR operations, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and payroll administration.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and administration of HR programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Support employee relations matters, including coaching, performance improvement plans, and staff communications.
  • Maintain employee records and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with Workers' Compensation, unemployment, disability, and leave administration.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, background checks, and pre-employment screenings.
  • Assist with government reporting requirements such as EEO and California Pay Data reporting.
  • Help develop and maintain HR training materials and programs.
  • Support semi-monthly payroll processing and related administrative functions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of Human Resources experience supporting at least 100 California employees.
  • Working knowledge of California labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience with employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and HRIS systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills preferred.

Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
