Driver Helper – Evening Shift $18.83 per hour
Location: Schertz, TX
Schedule: Starts at 3:00 PM and ends when the route is complete
Estimated Hours: 25–50 hours per week; hours will vary based on delivery volume and route length
Position Summary
We are hiring dependable Driver Helpers to assist with local delivery routes. This is a physically active position that involves riding with a commercial driver, unloading products at customer locations, organizing returned materials, and helping complete deliveries safely and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload products by hand, hand truck, or pallet jack
- Deliver products accurately according to invoices and customer requirements
- Assist the driver with organizing and securing products, pallets, crates, trays, and totes
- Guide or “spot” the driver while maneuvering the delivery vehicle
- Count products and verify shipment quantities
- Read product labels and delivery documents
- Assist with route paperwork
- Provide courteous and professional customer service
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all company and workplace safety procedures
- Maintain dependable attendance and complete assigned routes
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Push and pull loaded equipment weighing up to 150 pounds
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and sit throughout the shift
- Occasionally kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, balance, and climb
- Work in refrigerated, frozen, outdoor, and changing-temperature environments
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the delivery route
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous delivery, warehouse, food distribution, or frozen-food experience is preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and basic counting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team
- Professional attitude and strong customer-service skills
- Flexible availability, as finish times and weekly hours will vary
- Reliable transportation to the Schertz work location
Important: This position begins at 3:00 PM, but there is no set end time. Employees must be available until the assigned route is completed.
