Job Description
A 300+ bed hospital with Level III trauma center designation is seeking two skilled pharmacists for contract opportunities in Longview, TX. These roles offer an engaging environment that integrates clinical expertise with collaborative patient care.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth operations
- Consulting with physicians and nursing staff on medication management
- Managing pharmacokinetic dosing and medication therapy adjustments
- Applying specialized knowledge in neonatal medications and emergency medicine
Qualified candidates will possess:
- An active Texas pharmacist license
- At least 1 year of recent inpatient or clinical pharmacy experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems (highly preferred)
- Experience in pharmacokinetic dosing
- Familiarity with neonatal medication protocols and emergency care environments is a strong advantage
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour day shifts per week
- Possible schedule flexibility, including blocked schedules such as 8 days on followed by 6 days off
