Occupational Therapist School Setting in Byhalia, MS
Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract assignment providing vital occupational therapy services to students ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade. This role is ideal for compassionate and experienced OT professionals eager to make a direct impact across multiple school environments. Beginning September 9, 2026 and extending through June 30, 2027, you'll work 35 hours per week supporting a caseload of approximately 25 students across four nearby school locations – with two sites conveniently just minutes apart.
What You'll Need:
- Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric OT setting
- In-depth knowledge of best practices for serving diverse student populations from early childhood to adolescence
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads, schedules, and communication across sites
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities for effective collaboration with educators, support staff, and families
- Familiarity with IEP processes, documentation, and progress reports
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Conducting evaluations and assessments to determine students’ therapy needs
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to enhance student participation and success in the classroom
- Collaborating closely with teachers, families, and related service providers for holistic student support
- Traveling between up to four school sites, with flexible scheduling to optimize your day
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participating in IEP meetings and providing insightful recommendations
