Special Education Teacher - Pawtucket, RI

In this full-time, school-based role, you’ll support students in grades 5–8, providing both direct instruction and in-class accommodations. Ideal candidates will possess:

• Active Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred)
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience (school-based experience strongly valued)
• Strong experience supporting diverse learners in a middle school setting
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with general education teachers and school staff
• Commitment to high expectations and achievement for all students
• Bilingual skills are highly encouraged

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and implementing small-group, standards-based instruction
• Providing targeted support and implementing appropriate accommodations
• Monitoring progress toward IEP goals and maintaining relevant documentation
• Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with colleagues, families, and service providers
• Proactively engaging with students and families to foster relationships and effective communication
• Maintaining a positive, achievement-oriented, and well-managed classroom environment
• Participating in professional development and school community events
