Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a contract School Psychologist supporting students and staff near Fairfield, CT, for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time itinerant position allows you to utilize your expertise in psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention within a collaborative educational environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility for CT certification)
- Proficiency in conducting psychoeducational evaluations, interpreting data, and developing recommendations
- Experience with individualized education plan (IEP) processes and participation in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to travel between assigned schools as needed
- Fluency in ASL is not required, but for supportive paraprofessionals, at minimum, fluency is preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychological services including assessment, direct interventions, crisis response, and consultation
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development and review of IEPs
- Implement evidence-based practices for the prevention, assessment, and intervention of learning and behavioral challenges
- Assist in the development and delivery of professional development or training for school staff
- Maintain timely, organized records and adhere to all legal, ethical, and district-based protocols
