As an Intermodal Truck Driver, you'll safely transport freight between rail facilities and designated customer locations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle safely and professionally
- Transport intermodal freight between rail stations, warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations
- Inspect your truck and equipment before, during, and after trips
- Verify that cargo is properly secured and transported safely
- Maintain accurate driving, service, and inspection records
- Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delivery status, delays, and other issues
- Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse personnel, and rail facility personnel
- Report accidents, incidents, equipment problems, and other safety concerns promptly
- Follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Maintain a professional and dependable approach to every delivery
What We're Looking ForRequired
- Valid Class A CDL
- 4+ years of truck driving experience
- 4+ years of intermodal freight experience
- Strong knowledge of applicable commercial truck driving regulations
- Clean recent driving record with no recent serious moving violations
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong reliability and punctuality
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including loading and unloading cargo when required
- Experience working directly with rail terminals and intermodal facilities
- Experience communicating with dispatch and warehouse operations
- Familiarity with electronic logging and vehicle inspection systems
You'll be responsible for operating company equipment safely and complying with all applicable transportation regulations.
That means completing required inspections, maintaining accurate logs, securing freight properly, and communicating quickly when something affects safety, delivery schedules, or equipment condition.
