Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • At least two years of relevant teaching experience preferred
  • Prior school-based special education experience strongly preferred
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply
  • Must fulfill all state and school requirements for providing special education services

Role Highlights & Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with IEPs, 504 plans, and other learning needs using rigorous, standards-aligned small-group and in-class instruction
  • Collaborate and co-plan with general education teachers to ensure inclusive, effective instruction
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and IEP goals; actively progress-monitor and document student growth
  • Conduct, facilitate, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Maintain regular, open communication with families and guardians
  • Foster positive student relationships and a constructive, achievement-oriented classroom climate
  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school community events
  • Support students’ academic, social, and behavioral success
  • Demonstrate exemplary organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
