An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference in a middle school setting. This full-time contract role supports grades 5–8 during the 2026/2027 academic year, providing direct instruction, accommodations, and collaboration within a dynamic school environment focused on preparing students for future academic success.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Current Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • At least two years of relevant teaching experience preferred
  • Strongly prefer candidates with school-based special education experience
  • Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply
  • Must fulfill all state and school requirements for special education providers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver small-group pull-out instruction aligned with rigorous standards
  • Collaborate frequently with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
  • Offer in-class accommodations and direct instructional supports
  • Implement, monitor, and document progress on IEP goals
  • Schedule, facilitate, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Maintain detailed records on student progress and growth
  • Build meaningful partnerships with families and communicate student progress
  • Support academic, social, and behavioral development of students
  • Contribute to a positive and achievement-focused school culture
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and community activities
