Job Description
A rewarding contract opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher to support students across two nearby educational campuses. This position covers the full school year, with a work schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday, offering an appealing work-life balance and long weekends. The role involves a split assignment, providing writing instruction for grades K-4 in one location and resource services for grades 5-8 in another, serving a total caseload of approximately 30 students.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education.
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, with resource teaching background preferred.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies tailored to K-8 students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, especially for managing a multi-grade caseload.
- Capability to collaborate across teams and adapt teaching for multiple classrooms or campus environments.
- Comfortable writing and implementing IEPs and tracking student progress.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver resource and specialized instruction to students in elementary and middle grade bands.
- Maintain and monitor student caseload, ensuring adherence to all IEP goals and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school teams, and families to create inclusive and supportive learning settings.
- Conduct and document assessments, provide differentiated interventions, and support student development in both academic and life skills domains.
- Rotate between two campuses as scheduled, managing responsibilities and maintaining effective communication across both settings.
