Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity with an established commercial specialty contractor serving projects throughout Southern California. This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys a fast-paced mix of estimating, customer relationship management, field coordination, and project execution.

The Project Manager will support highly technical epoxy coating and specialty construction projects for commercial, biotech, pharma, R&D, and similar environments. Most projects are short duration, typically 1 to 2 weeks, giving you the opportunity to manage a variety of work and see projects move quickly from estimate to award to completion.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants ownership, training, and a clear career path. The company offers structured onboarding, hands-on field development, supportive leadership, and a collaborative team culture focused on quality, accountability, and long-term growth. Candidates who are not yet ready for a full Project Manager role may be considered for an Assistant Project Manager track with a defined path toward advancement.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial specialty construction projects from estimating and pre-construction through closeout.
- Develop scopes, budgets, proposals, schedules, and project documentation while tracking opportunities through CRM systems.
- Serve as a primary contact for general contractors, clients, architects, vendors, and internal field teams.
- Coordinate job-site activity, vendor support, project schedules, safety expectations, and quality control.
- Conduct site visits throughout Southern California to monitor progress, resolve issues, and support successful completion.
- Build and maintain customer relationships, support repeat business, and follow up on bids, service needs, and warranty requests.

Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire, full-time.
- Work Environment: Approximately 50% office and 50% field after training.
- Location: Pomona, CA, with projects throughout Southern California, including as far south as San Diego.
- Training: Structured 3 to 6 month onboarding program.
- Performance Bonus: Gross-margin-based bonus available upon advancement to full Project Manager status.
- Company Vehicle: Provided upon advancement to full Project Manager status, with company-paid fuel for job-site travel.
- Benefits: 401(k) with company matching, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid time off, 3 personal days, and a generous paid holiday schedule.
- Extended hours and occasional weekend hours may be required during peak seasons or larger projects.
