Volt is hiring immediately for a Technician in San Antonio, Texas.

As a Technician, you will:

  • Inspect, validate, and confirm the functionality of new and modified manufacturing equipment prior to production launch.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, startup, and launch of Body Weld and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform robot programming, equipment interlock verification, and troubleshooting activities during equipment setup and launch.
  • Conduct equipment testing and validation to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Develop and implement countermeasures to resolve issues identified during equipment setup, trials, and production startup.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and approve new Body Weld equipment at supplier facilities and manufacturing plants.
  • Partner with equipment suppliers, vendors, and manufacturing teams throughout equipment installation and launch activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation-related equipment issues.
  • Support North American manufacturing facilities from equipment installation through start of production.
  • Document equipment performance issues, corrective actions, and process improvements during commissioning and launch activities.
  • Travel to supplier and manufacturing locations to support equipment build, validation, installation, and production launch milestones.
  • Support project timelines by working extended hours as needed during equipment launches, production startups, and plant shutdown periods.

This is a full-time (1 year) opportunity!

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Travel: Up to 66%

The Ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with Robotics, PLCs, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Open to recent graduates or candidates with hands-on robotics/PLC experience.
  • PLC experience with Toyopuc/Aamaron preferred
  • Experience with robot programming, interlocking, HMI systems, commissioning, and startup support.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of automation controls, manufacturing equipment, and Body Weld/automotive processes.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and continuous improvement (Kaizen) mindset.
  • Willing to travel up to 66% and work overtime/weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to rent a vehicle.
  • Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Mentoring or technical training experience.

Pay Rate: $39.20 per hour DOE

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
