\nAs Hawaii’s first Fresh Mexican Restaurant, Mekiko Cantina, our passion brings tastes of Mexico to our local and visiting guests. Mekiko Cantina is a 4th generation "start-up" Mexican Restaurant with a vision for growth.
\nIf you are excited about our mission and passionate about our values, we seek experienced bartenders for our Kapolei, Oahu restaurant. Preferably, you are a current Oahu or Hawaii resident and have 3 or more years of bar experience locally.
\nPrimary Responsibilities:
\nProvide the highest level of quality and service for our guests. Prepare beverages for guests.
\nEssential Duties:
\n- \n
- Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders. \n
- Inform customers about new beverages and specials. \n
- Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers. \n
- Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol. \n
- Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked. \n
- Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations. \n
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate, and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register. \n
- Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment. \n
- Developing new cocktail recipes. \n
- Regular Attendance is essential for satisfactory performance in this position. \n
Other Duties:

- Supports and works productively with peers in other areas. \n
- Performs housekeeping and other related duties as required. \n
- Any other tasks assigned by management. \n
Working Conditions:
\nIndoors, air-conditioned.
\nMental, Physical,and Communication Demands:

\n Response to direction - Receive and follow directions from supervisors; follow direction of computer-generated tickets.
\n Requires considerable walking and standing for the majority of duties, frequent kneeling, bending, stretching, lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds supplies,
\n Requires oral and verbal communication with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate efforts, request needed help or supplies, and read and understand labels on cleaning solutions and other duties.
\n Requires following simple, on-the-job assignments as instructed by authorized personnel.
\n Education/Experience:

- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required. \n
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol. \n
- High school diploma desired. \n
Work Hours: Normally 40 hours on a rotating schedule or shifts, including Saturday, Sundays, and holidays.
