Position Summary
The Installation Team Lead is responsible for leading installation crews in the field while actively performing high-quality window and door installations. This role serves as a working leader who sets the standard for workmanship, safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Installation Quality & Workmanship
- Perform and oversee window and door installations in accordance with manufacturer requirements, industry standards, and Morrison Millwork installation practices.
- Inspect completed work throughout the installation process to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper functionality.
- Maintain a strong eye for detail, including alignment, reveals, level and plumb, operation, sealant, flashing, trim, hardware, and overall finished appearance.
- Identify workmanship concerns early and correct issues before they impact the customer or require service.
- Conduct quality checks at appropriate stages of installation and communicate concerns to the Installation Manager.
- Ensure installation punch list items are identified, documented, and addressed in a timely manner.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of Morrison Millwork’s product portfolio and manufacturer-specific installation requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Demonstrate leadership by consistently modeling Morrison Millwork’s core values and hold team members accountable for demonstrating these values in their daily work and interactions.
- Establish clear expectations for performance, attendance, safety, and quality.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback and learning opportunities.

Scheduling & Job Coordination
- Work closely with the Operations Coordinator to execute the daily and weekly installation schedule.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, jobsite conditions, and resource needs promptly to the Operations Coordinator and Installation Manager.
- Participate in the pre-installation, in-progress, and post-installation walkthroughs as needed.
- Confirm job readiness and communicate any concerns related to site conditions, materials, access, or installation requirements.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse/Delivery Team regarding materials, equipment, and jobsite needs.
- Proactively identify issues that could affect installation schedules and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them.
Customer Experience & Communication
- Represent Morrison Millwork professionally at customer and builder jobsites.
- Provide courteous, knowledgeable, and respectful service throughout the installation process.
- Work with the Sales Team and Installation Manager to resolve installation-related customer questions or concerns.
- Protect the customer’s home and jobsite by maintaining clean, organized, and professional work areas.
- Ensure post-installation service needs are accurately identified, documented, and communicated to Service Team.
Safety and Equipment
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety on all installation jobsites.
- Lead by example in the proper and safe use of PPE, tools, scaffolding, ladders, lifts, vehicles, and other installation equipment.
- Ensure installation team members are properly trained and authorized to operate applicable equipment and follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Inspect or verify the condition of scaffolding, lifts, ladders, and other equipment before use and report any unsafe or damaged equipment immediately.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve installation methods, productivity, communication, and jobsite organization.
- Share field feedback and improvement opportunities with the Installation Manager.
- Assist in developing and maintaining installation standards, checklists, and best practices.
- Identify recurring installation issues and help develop corrective actions and training to prevent recurrence.
- Stay current on manufacturer installation requirements, industry practices, tools, and installation techniques.

Qualifications
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience installing windows and doors in residential construction or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience performing high-quality window and door installations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of window and door products, installation methods, and manufacturer requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor or train other installation team members.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and manufacturer installation instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel daily throughout Morrison Millwork’s service territories.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Lead Installer, Installation Team Lead, Foreman, or similar field leadership role.
- Experience installing premium or architectural window and door products.
- Experience with multiple window and door manufacturers and installation systems.
- OSHA or other construction safety training.
- Experience conducting jobsite walkthroughs, quality inspections, or punch lists.
- Experience training or mentoring installation employees.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily works in residential construction jobsites and field environments.
- Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions, construction materials, noise, dust, and active construction sites.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance as required.
- Ability to safely operate installation tools and equipment.
- Ability to travel daily throughout Morrison Millwork’s service territories.
