Job Description

The Commercial HVAC Controls Technician is a key contributor to maintaining and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial, industrial, and multifamily facilities. Working primarily within small teams of 1-3 people and reporting to the Project Manager or HVAC Supervisor, this role focuses on system installation, maintenance, and upgrades with a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. The position requires local travel to various sites to ensure seamless operation and compliance of building automation and HVAC control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, test, calibrate, and upgrade HVAC control systems
  • Perform wiring and circuitry tasks to support BAS and HVAC controls
  • Document technical processes, system configurations, and maintenance activities
  • Provide customer support and resolve technical issues on-site
  • Conduct compliance checks to ensure safety and regulatory standards are met
  • Perform preventive maintenance and system performance evaluations
  • Collaborate effectively with small teams and report progress to Project Manager or HVAC Supervisor
  • Travel locally to service commercial, industrial, and multifamily building facilities

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls
  • Valid Electrical License
  • LEA or LEB certification
  • Proficiency with HVAC systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with pneumatic and digital controls
  • Knowledge of wiring and circuitry
  • Skilled in preventive maintenance
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation
  • Commitment to safety compliance and procedures
