Job Description
This role supports high-volume cheese production and packaging operations in a clean, food-grade manufacturing facility. You will handle product throughout the packaging process, operate equipment, perform inspections, and maintain sanitation and safety standards while working on a consistent evening or overnight schedule.
Pay
- All shifts are starting at $20.75 and hour

- 7am to 3pm
- 3pm to 11pm
- 1pm to 7am
- Have to be open to any shift or even working a 12 hour 7am to 7pm or a 7pm to 7am if needed.
Responsibilities
- Load cheese for packaging machines onto conveyors in a safe and efficient manner.
- Remove cheese from brine cages and prepare it for further processing or packaging.
- Construct boxes and pack product into boxes according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Stack cheese boxes neatly on pallets so finished goods pallets fit into cooler racks without damage.
- Remove packaging material from rejected cheese and prepare product for repackaging.
- Inspect product and packaging for foreign material and imperfections, segregate suspect product, and rerun product through the metal detector when needed.
- Document vat numbers and promptly inform a supervisor if product does not meet acceptable standards.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain plant equipment in good operating condition.
- Maintain work areas in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion throughout the shift.
- Assist in other production areas as required to support overall plant operations.
- Assist in training new personnel by demonstrating tasks and sharing procedures.
- Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in compliance with corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures at all times while on the production floor.
- Perform general labor tasks including lifting, moving, and handling materials and products.
- Complete repetitive tasks with attention to detail and consistent quality.
- Operate production and packaging machinery and use hand tools as required.
- Use tape measures and other basic tools to perform measurements and checks when needed.
- Assist with forklift operations and material handling as appropriate to the role and training.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand instructions, safety information, and production documentation.
- Ability to use simple writing, addition, subtraction, and multiplication in daily tasks.
- Ability to carry out instructions and follow established procedures accurately.
- Capability to perform general labor, including regular lifting and handling of materials.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and product quality.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Basic ability to inspect products and packaging for defects or foreign material.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- No prior experience required; training is provided.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in production or general labor environments is a plus.
- Prior work in packaging, packing, or assembly is advantageous.
- Familiarity with inspection processes in a manufacturing setting is helpful.
- Ability to use hand tools and tape measures accurately.
- Exposure to forklift operation and material handling is a plus.
- Comfort working in a structured, process-driven manufacturing environment.

You work on-site in a production area with packaging machines, conveyors, and related equipment. Work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and handling product and materials in a controlled, temperature-managed environment where food safety and quality standards are consistently enforced.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Wilmington, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.75 - $23.09/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
