This in-person, contract assignment offers 35 hours weekly, providing a wonderful opportunity to engage students through the visual arts and contribute to a dynamic and positive learning environment. Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Active New York State Teaching Certificate with appropriate ART endorsements
  • Demonstrated experience or formal training as a General Education or Art Teacher
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to develop age-appropriate, engaging art lesson plans
  • Experience creating inclusive and varied instructional activities to accommodate diverse learners

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive art curriculum in alignment with state standards
  • Create an inspiring classroom environment where creativity can flourish
  • Encourage students’ personal growth and art appreciation through various media and techniques
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt lessons as needed
  • Collaborate with school staff to support a multidisciplinary educational experience
