Fire Sprinkler Engineer
Job Description
Design fire sprinkler and standpipe systems.
Design systems for residential, commercial, and high rise projects.
Perform hydraulic calculations.
Prepare fabrication and shop drawings.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and applicable building and fire codes.
Prepare and submit plans to AHJs and city departments.
Track plan reviews and approvals through completion.
Coordinate designs with GCs, developers, architects, and other trades.
Resolve field conflicts and routing issues.
Support projects from design through field execution.
Coordinate with internal engineering and design teams.
Maintain accurate project documentation.
Proven fire sprinkler design and engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 14.
Knowledge of local fire and building code requirements.
Experience with hydraulic calculations.
Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
HydraCAD experience preferred.
Strong understanding of fire sprinkler and standpipe systems.
Experience with AHJ permitting and approval processes.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Practical fire protection design experience is valued over formal certifications.
Ability to pass a practical design and code assessment.
