Job Description
Step into a vital role as a school psychologist, supporting elementary students’ growth and well-being for the remainder of the academic year. This contract position centers around providing services to a manageable caseload of approximately 25 students in an engaging school environment located near Westport, CT. You will collaborate with faculty, administrators, and families to create a positive educational experience for young learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s or specialist-level degree in School Psychology
- Valid certification or licensure as a school psychologist
- Prior experience working with elementary-age students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, consultation, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver counseling services to assigned students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assist in eligibility determinations for special education services
- Develop, write, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations to support student success
- Offer consultation to teachers, staff, and families to ensure consistent implementation of targeted interventions
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to all relevant policies and regulations
