Intermediate Accountant
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Record accounting activity through well-prepared journal entries and keep general ledger balances current and accurate.
• Complete reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to confirm the integrity of balance sheet and related accounts.
• Support the production of financial statements and internal reports by organizing data and validating underlying transactions.
• Review financial results, identify unusual fluctuations, and research discrepancies to help explain variances.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close cycles to ensure deadlines are met and reporting remains reliable.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation needed for external audits, tax filings, and other compliance-related requests.
• Reconcile banking activity, credit card transactions, and other key accounts to maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by compiling financial information and assisting with analysis.
• Use advanced Excel tools to interpret data, build useful reporting schedules, and improve accounting workflow efficiency.
• Partner with management and cross-functional teams to address accounting questions and support broader business needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of core accounting principles, general ledger activity, and financial reporting practices.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience using ERP platforms or other accounting software in a business environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
