Detail-oriented Phlebotomist with experience performing venipuncture, specimen collection, processing, and laboratory support in fast-paced healthcare environments. Skilled in patient interaction, specimen handling, compliance standards, and quality assurance. Adept at ensuring accurate collection, labeling, processing, and transport of specimens while maintaining exceptional patient care and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using straight and butterfly needles while following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Collect, label, process, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and store specimens according to testing requirements and laboratory standards.
  • Verify laboratory requisitions, physician orders, and patient information to ensure specimen accuracy and testing compliance.
  • Provide clear and professional explanations to patients regarding blood draws and other specimen collection procedures, including urine and fecal samples.
  • Prepare and package specimens for transportation while maintaining proper storage temperatures and specimen integrity.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, specimen documentation, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Troubleshoot collection and processing issues and recommend workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Adhere to OSHA, DEP, and company safety regulations, including decontamination and infection control procedures.
  • Support laboratory operations by answering inquiries, communicating test information, and assisting patients and healthcare staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain competency and compliance standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
