We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to support payroll operations and provide broader accounting assistance for a busy finance team in Cornelius, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who can manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll with precision while also contributing to reconciliations, reporting, and daily transactional accounting. The right candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment with sensitive information, and the ability to balance deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:
• Administer end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 101 to 500 employees, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
• Manage payroll activities across multiple states, including earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, and compliance-related updates.
• Support monthly and annual close activities by preparing journal entries and reconciling payroll-related and general ledger accounts.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, maintaining accurate records and timely transaction posting.
• Complete recurring reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts to help maintain financial accuracy.
• Prepare supporting schedules, reports, and documentation needed for financial reporting and audit requests.
• Review payroll and accounting workflows, identify areas for greater efficiency, and recommend practical process enhancements.
• Use payroll and accounting systems such as ADP Workforce Now, QuickBooks, and NetSuite to maintain data integrity and support finance operations.• 2 to 5 years of direct experience processing payroll from start to finish.
• Demonstrated knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, payroll taxes, withholdings, and related compliance standards.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including the ability to work efficiently with payroll and accounting data.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial information.
• Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with employee and company records.
• Experience using payroll and accounting platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, QuickBooks, or NetSuite is preferred.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
