Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Closer to support an increasing volume of commercial real estate and construction lending transactions.

Position Overview

The Commercial Loan Closer is responsible for coordinating the closing, documentation, funding, and boarding of commercial lending transactions. This role supports a diverse commercial portfolio including commercial real estate, acquisition, development, and construction loans.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of commercial lending documentation, due diligence requirements, title review, and closing coordination, along with a commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Loan Documentation & Review
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and execution of commercial loan documentation.
  • Verify document accuracy and compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and approved loan terms.
  • Gather and organize required closing documentation including title commitments, insurance certificates, entity documentation, tax records, and other due diligence materials.
  • Review loan packages for completeness and accuracy prior to closing and funding.
Due Diligence & Risk Management
  • Analyze title commitments, collateral documentation, organizational documents, and ownership structures to ensure closing readiness.
  • Confirm all loan conditions and documentation requirements have been satisfied.
  • Ensure lien perfection requirements are met and appropriate documentation is collected and recorded.
  • Monitor, track, and obtain outstanding post-closing documentation as needed.
Transaction Coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the closing process for lenders, borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and internal business partners.
  • Manage loan closing timelines and proactively communicate transaction status.
  • Resolve documentation issues and coordinate necessary revisions to ensure successful closings.
  • Facilitate a seamless closing experience while balancing multiple active transactions.
Funding & Loan Setup
  • Coordinate funding activities in accordance with approved loan structures and closing instructions.
  • Review settlement statements and funding calculations for accuracy.
  • Process loan disbursements and ensure all funding requirements are met.
  • Establish and maintain accurate loan records within the loan servicing platform.
Customer Service & Team Collaboration
  • Deliver a high level of service to borrowers, lending teams, and business partners.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and provide timely transaction updates.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure efficient workflows and successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on accuracy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial loan closing, loan operations, loan processing, commercial lending, title, legal, or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate and construction lending transactions.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting loan documentation including promissory notes, guaranties, mortgages/deeds of trust, security agreements, and corporate entity documents.
  • Understanding of title commitments, insurance requirements, UCC filings, and lien perfection procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with lending and banking systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
