We are seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Assistant to support our client. This role will assist with employee inquiries, benefits enrollments, eligibility updates, leave administration support, vendor coordination, and data entry while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Location: Van Nuys, CA
Schedule: Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Contract
Pay: $25 hr.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with administration of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and qualifying life events.
- Respond to employee benefit inquiries and provide general benefits information.
- Support open enrollment activities, communications, and employee education efforts.
- Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and benefits systems.
- Assist with leave administration processes including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, and Workers' Compensation documentation.
- Perform benefits audits, reconciliations, and data validation.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers and third-party vendors regarding eligibility, billing, and employee issues.
- Process and track COBRA notifications and related documentation.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and benefits-related correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Provide administrative support to the HR and Benefits team as needed.
- 1-3+ years of benefits, HR, payroll, or employee services experience.
- Experience supporting employee benefits administration preferred.
- Knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, COBRA, and retirement plans.
- Familiarity with leave of absence programs is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience working with HRIS systems preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
