The Production Supervisor oversees approximately 30 team members on the production floor, leads day-to-day operations, and drives effective solutions to production challenges. This role ensures smooth coordination and communication between shifts and departments while supporting continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide daily leadership to a team of around 30 production floor employees, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Manage production activities to meet quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve production problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate workflow and priorities between different shifts to maintain consistent output and minimize downtime.
- Communicate clearly with other departments to align production schedules, address issues, and support cross-functional collaboration.
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Monitor production processes and equipment performance, including CNC machines, mills, and lathes, and escalate issues when needed.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to production staff to enhance performance and skill development.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards on the production floor.
- Assist in implementing process improvements and best practices to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience supervising production floor staff, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong production management skills with the ability to oversee daily operations and meet production targets.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, including team leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Experience with continuous improvement and process improvement in a production setting.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively between shifts and departments.
- Working knowledge of CNC machines, mills, and lathes sufficient to support production operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in a job shop environment is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of CNC machining processes is a strong plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written.

Work Environment
This role is based on a first-shift schedule in a manufacturing facility. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The production floor environment includes CNC machines, mills, and lathes, and requires consistent attention to safety and quality procedures. Typical attire is appropriate for a production and machining environment, with any required protective equipment provided in accordance with facility standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
