Job Description
The Control Panel Technician assembles, wires, and tests control panels using electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. This role involves electrical wiring and rewiring, working with basic hand and power tools, and contributing to high-quality panel builds in a clean, temperature-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble control panels according to wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Perform electrical wiring and rewiring for control panels and related components.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings to complete panel builds accurately.
- Use basic hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, and wrenches to prepare and install wiring and components.
- Operate basic power tools including drills and saws to cut, mount, and secure panel parts and hardware.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues within control panels and related systems.
- Inspect completed panels to verify proper wiring, component placement, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and project deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical components and tools.
Essential Skills
- Ability to assemble control panels using wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with electrical wiring and rewiring tasks.
- Basic knowledge of panel wiring and control panel construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency using hand tools such as wire strippers and screwdrivers.
- Proficiency using power tools such as drills and saws.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical and panel-related issues.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and safe wiring.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small technical team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with control panel assembly or installation is a plus but not required.
- Exposure to solar installation projects is beneficial.
- Experience in commercial or residential electrical work is advantageous.
- Entry-level maintenance experience is a plus.
- Comfort working from technical drawings, blueprints, and schematic documents.
- Willingness to learn and develop deeper expertise in panel building and troubleshooting.

Work Environment
The role is based indoors in a temperature-controlled, very clean, and well-maintained facility. You work as part of a close-knit team of approximately 12 people, using standard electrical hand tools and power tools in an organized workspace designed for comfort, safety, and efficient panel assembly.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Largo, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
