Located near Norfolk, VA, this full-time position runs through the remainder of the school year and focuses on supporting a caseload of ten diverse learners. Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 3-5) in a special education setting
- Proficiency with inclusion and/or adaptive education models
- Comfortable supporting a small caseload while differentiating instruction
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for a group of ten students
- Deliver instruction in an inclusion or adaptive classroom environment based on student needs
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students with varying abilities
- Collaborate with instructional teams to adapt curriculum and classroom activities for optimal student success
- Communicate effectively with parents and related service providers
