Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of middle school students by providing expert support as an Intervention Specialist within an autism unit. This full-time role offers the opportunity to foster growth and learning in a small, supportive classroom environment, working with just five students throughout the school year. Located in a vibrant educational community near Madison, OH, this contract position is set to run from approximately August 24th until June 4, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License in the state of Ohio
- Prior experience supporting students on the autism spectrum, ideally in a middle school setting
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work closely with families, paraprofessionals, and interdisciplinary teams
- Dedication to creating an inclusive classroom where every student is valued and supported
- Commitment to consistent, on-site engagement throughout the contract period
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Design engaging, age-appropriate lessons that align with curriculum standards and support social, emotional, and academic growth
- Closely track student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment conducive to every student’s success
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to student support
