Job Description
A dynamic opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide essential pharmacy services in a small, 40-bed hospital setting within Northern Central Wisconsin. This role involves travel and offers a flexible schedule to accommodate your preferences while delivering critical patient care in a variety of clinical areas.
Location:
- Northern Central Wisconsin, Medford area
Schedule:
- 4x10-hour shifts, days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with rotating weekends
- Alternatively, a block schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off is considered
Duration:
- Approximately 13 weeks with an immediate start
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders using EPIC and oversee technician work to ensure accuracy and safety
- Manage phone consultations as required to support pharmacy operations
- Prepare and dispense inpatient and outpatient IV medications, unit dose medications, and chemotherapy treatments
- Support a patient census averaging 30-40 inpatient individuals across departments such as Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, oncology outpatient, emergency department, and surgery
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid pharmacist license
- Experience with EPIC pharmacy systems preferred
- Proficiency in managing inpatient pharmacy operations in a hospital setting
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Comfortable with inpatient chemotherapy preparation and administration
