Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role focused on supporting K-8 students as an Occupational Therapist within a dynamic and collaborative district environment near Des Plaines, IL. Work alongside a skilled team of eight Occupational Therapists and contribute to meaningful progress for students across multiple schools. This role welcomes full-time and part-time applicants.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapist (OT) Licensure
- Experience working with K-8th grade students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and consult with teams
- Previous school-based experience is a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to K-8 students in school settings
- Complete initial and re-evaluations to assist in special education eligibility determination
- Provide support for Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Consult and collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams to foster skill generalization within the classroom
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress monitoring in compliance with school and state guidelines
This contract position begins August 18, 2025 and will run through June 4, 2026. The commitment is 35 hours per week, across five days, with flexibility for part-time arrangements to fit your schedule.
