Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist during key maternity leave periods at established K-12 campuses in the Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce areas. This contract position offers a chance to work on-site as part of dedicated school-based teams, delivering vital speech and language services to diverse student populations.
Available assignments include placements at:
- Manatee Academy K-8 (immediate start, through January): Collaborate with an experienced group of SLPs to serve a K-8 caseload during a maternity leave coverage.
- Palm Pointe K-8 (October start, through January): Work alongside another SLP, focusing on a K-8 caseload, including students in ASD units.
- Ft. Pierce Central High School (September to October 20th): Partner with an SLPA (onsite 2 days/week) and primarily serve high school students.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required
- Active Florida SLP licensure
- School-based experience, especially with K-8 or high school populations, is highly valued
- Familiarity with IEP processes, ASD caseloads, and multidisciplinary team collaboration preferred
- Timely completion of district fingerprinting and credentialing (expedited if previously cleared by AHCA)
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to designated student caseloads
- Complete assessments, documentation, and progress reports
- Participate actively with school-based teams, including IEP meetings
- Offer consultative support to staff and families as needed
- Adapt therapy to both general education and specialized program settings
